Getting the data

• Search & filter, then export — every search on the spending page has a CSV export (up to 10,000 rows per export) with the source URL for each record.
• Feeds — new records above $25,000 appear in the RSS feed and the JSON feed shortly after each import.
• Full datasets — for complete bulk data, use the official sources directly: the grants dataset on open.canada.ca and Global Affairs Canada's IATI files. Every record page here links to its official source.

What to check before publishing

• The linked official record is always authoritative — verify amounts there, not here.
• Amendments: departments sometimes republish the same agreement with changed values; the newest version replaces the old one on this site on the next weekly import.
• AI-generated categories and summaries are labelled and are never a substitute for the published description.
• The Worth a look page flags statistical outliers automatically; a flag is a starting point for reporting, not a finding.

Update cadence

Grants & contributions import Mondays; Global Affairs IATI Mondays; Statistics Canada series Tuesdays; sitemaps nightly. Each record stores the date it was imported.

Cite the official source record (linked on every record page) and, if useful, this site as the discovery tool with the date retrieved. The underlying data is published under the Open Government Licence – Canada.
