OAS - Organization of American States

Published purpose

The project aims to increase the actions of members of the Organization of American States to prevent and combat discrimination and gender-based violence, and to promote the reproductive rights of women and girls. The project seeks to prevent violations of women’s rights and increase actions (precautionary measures, petitions and cases system; follow-up recommendations and monitoring and promotional activities). It seeks to strengthen protection and defence of women and girls’ rights, in collaboration with the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, national State authorities, and civil society organizations. Though this project is regional, it also targets Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Peru.
