Published purpose
This project aims to strengthen health systems in 5 low-performing districts in Bangladesh to reduce maternal and child mortality rates and improve access to quality healthcare for women, adolescents and children. The project focuses on improving the quality of health policies, standards of practice and guidelines, as well as strengthening their implementation at the national level and in the targeted low-performing districts. This approach ensures that primary healthcare services, especially those related to sexual and reproductive health and rights, including addressing gender-based violence, are of good quality and available to everyone, especially those who are usually left out. The project aims to reach over 3.5 million women, adolescents and children in 5 targeted districts and also engage stakeholders and mobilize communities to make health services more accountable to local populations.
