Published purpose
This project aims to improve health outcomes and rights, particularly sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for women and girls (W&Gs) in 6 selected districts in Central Sulawesi and Papua. It particularly focuses on marginalized or vulnerable women and girls. Project activities include: (1) training in gender responsive SRHR health care provision for health centre (puskesmas) workers. This includes emergency obstetric and newborn care, family planning, postabortion care, female genital mutilation, gender-based violence and nutrition; (2) equipping health centres, providing ambulances, and setting up mobile and satellite clinics in hard to reach communities; (3) building capacity of women and girls in SRHR; (4) delivering gender responsive training of community leadership, including religious and traditional leaders, on gender equality issues; and (5) raising gender awareness of boys, men and parents. This project reaches 420,000 people directly, and 1.7 million people indirectly in the 6 districts.
