Published purpose
The Global nutrition report (GNR) is a multi-stakeholder initiative comprised of global institutions led by experts in the field of nutrition. This project aims to provide the best available data, in-depth analysis and expert opinion rooted in evidence to help drive action on nutrition where it is urgently needed. This project seeks to inform, shape, and inspire action with data and evidence on policy, practice and financing, which should strengthen accountability and progress in tackling poor diets and malnutrition globally. It also seeks to integrate gender in distinct ways to increase women’s representation in publications, panels, and governance bodies. It also aims to generate evidence on the disproportionate impact of malnutrition on women and girls. Project activities include: (1) synthesizing nutrition data and evidence through reports and articles; (2) hosting the Nutrition accountability framework, including the shaping, guidance, registration, and tracking of nutrition commitments by all stakeholders; (3) developing ambitious, evidence-based, and nutrition commitments; and (4) strengthening stakeholders’ nutrition commitments and informing their policies and actions with data and evidence.
