Published purpose

The objectives of this project are three-fold. 1) Negotiate the outstanding issues in the initialed June 2015 draft establishment agreement, in particular the financial elements of the agreement while continuing to engage and educate the Northwest Territory Metis Nation (NWTMN) membership about the contents of the initialed Thaidene Nëné Establishment Agreement; 2) Finalize a National Park Reserve Boundary which meets the interests of NWTMN, other NWT indigenous groups, Parks Canada and the GNWT; and 3) Develop an economic strategy for the members of the Northwest Territories Metis Nation (NWTMN) to engage in Thaidene Nëné National Park Reserve, and set priorities for economic development related to the National Park Reserve.
