This contribution agreement supports three activities for the development of a feasibility assessment to advance a national marine conservation area in Western James Bay and Southwestern Hudson Bay. These activities include planning for a traditional knowledge study that will include investigating traditional family lands, culturally important sites, Cree language use and place names, species at risk, and terrestrial and marine areas of natural and cultural importance; connecting with communities and planning for community consultations; and, developing communication products, such as materials, and programming for local radio and social media sites.
