Published purpose
This grant supports the Toronto Wildlife Centre to continue critical rescue, treatment, and long-term rehabilitation of native wildlife fauna in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Urbanization, encroachment on habitat, road mortality, habitat destruction, displacement, accidental poisoning and entanglement, and human persecution have put many wild populations at risk in this geographic area. The project will support the maintenance of healthy populations of local native wildlife and help retain biodiversity of species found within the GTA.
