Published purpose
The grant supports the production of media (e.g., a video) that highlights ci̓ šaaʔatḥ/Tseshaht First Nation’s “Going Home Initiative”, which is supported by the capacity of the Beach keepers Program. The “Going Home Initiative” includes organized events or programs that support and preserve cultural heritage activities and traditional values of ci̓ šaaʔatḥ /Tseshaht people and serves to reconnect ci̓ šaaʔatḥ/ Tseshaht members back to their homelands in such instances where this connection has been adversely impacted—directly or indirectly—by the actions of the Canadian federal government.
