Published purpose
This grant enables the documentation of Oral History along the coast of Ivvavik by recording youth interviewing Elders about Qainiiruviq (Clarence Lagoon) and other nearby cultural sites. This will allow for the preservation of important knowledge about these cultural sites within the community of Aklavik through the production of short video clips distributed by the Inuvialuit Communications Society. This grant will also enable the dissemination of information about cultural resource management within Ivvavik National Park in a series of print and digital articles released in Tuksaayaksat Magazine, a publication free to all Inuvialuit beneficiaries.
