Published purpose
This contribution supports Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation in understanding how climate change is impacting Porcupine caribou habitat in Vuntut National Park. Knowledge gathered through the program will inform several key Porcupine caribou management and conservation planning efforts. In addition, the project will facilitate Indigenous leadership in ecological monitoring and cooperative management, empower Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation citizens to strengthen decision making in the regional conservation economy, and provide opportunities for citizens to re-connect with caribou landscapes within their territory.
