Published purpose

The proposed project aims to strengthen community involvement and leadership in polar bear research; generate community-based findings to inform polar bear science, management, and conservation policy; support the development of self-sustaining, youth-engaged research programs; and promote the broader adoption of non-invasive, community-led research methods across Arctic regions and subpopulations. The project also aims to establish a broader community-based polar bear research network linking Foxe Basin with ongoing initiatives in Southern Hudson Bay and other Arctic regions. By fostering collaboration, shared methodologies, and cross-regional data exchange.
