Published purpose
This project will enhance community-based policing for the Teslin Tlingit Council (TTC) community and improve on community connection, including the working relationship between TTC and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The Community Safety Officers (CSOs) will enhance community safety through proactive measures and projects, as well as provide low-risk responses to address community concerns, including incidents stemming from social issues such as addictions and mental health. The CSOs act as liaisons between local community members and the RCMP to ensure police response considers TTC culture and traditions.
