Published purpose

The City of Brantford will develop prevention and early intervention initiatives that seek to address youth involvement in gun and gang activity. The objective of the multi-year Building Safer Communities Fund (BSCF) project is to disseminate funding and support to community organizations to create locally-driven prevention and intervention strategies that effectively combat youth involvement in gun and gang violence. Additionally, the City of Brantford in partnership with Wilfred Laurier University, will develop comprehensive program research, evaluation and sustainability plans to increase the knowledge of the nature, scope and challenges of youth involved in gun and gang activities.
