Published purpose
This project aims to enhance the strategic planning, coordination, and operational efficiency capabilities of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and the Anti-Narcotics Directorate in fighting against drug trafficking. Project activities include: (1) conducting a comprehensive review of the current national and cross-border governance and cooperation frameworks, identifying priorities, and providing relevant recommendations; (2) facilitating the exchange of experience, expertise, and best practices aligned with international standards to deepen understanding of the complexity of countering drug trafficking; and (3) strengthening national database systems by providing necessary equipment and training to counternarcotic units.
