Published purpose

This project supports women peacebuilders in their continued commitment to foster peace, deepen resilience, and fight for equality and pluralism through the International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN). Project activities include: (1) strengthening the Women’s Alliance for Security Leadership (WASL) to conduct and inform gendered peacebuilding policy and practice; (2) enhancing the capacity of women peacebuilders to design and implement gendered peacebuilding initiatives that respond to local context; (3) increasing awareness of peace and security policymakers, practitioners, and experts of ICAN’s gendered peace and security recommendations and practical guidance tools; and, (4) improving knowledge and skills of the Women, Peace, and Security community of practice on the role, expertise, and strategies of women peacebuilders.
