Feminist Alliance for International Action (FAFIA)

Published purpose

This 36-month project will strengthen and enlarge FAFIA’s network of feminist rights advocates and women`s organizations and equip them with the appropriate tools to incorporate a women`s rights framework into their community work and advocacy. This will enable them to effectively articulate and analyze women's rights developed at the international level and remedy systemic gender-based wrongs in their Canadian contexts. Activities include mobilizing women’s organizations through a civil society engagement process, and developing a ‘made in Canada’ strategy for implementing the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) recommendations.
