Published purpose

This project aims to strengthen justice and security services for women and vulnerable groups by advancing national-level reforms and ensuring their effective implementation at the local level. Project activities include: (1) advancing community policing, promoting gender-responsive practices, and strengthening management and oversight; (2) updating national policies on legal aid and gender-based violence, and raising awareness about the protection needs of women and vulnerable groups in crisis situations; (3) strengthening oversight within the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities (MoIM) and the Internal Security Forces (ISF), and supporting human rights monitoring by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC); (4) upgrading and equipping 2 police stations to improve community policing, and testing a new cooperation model between the ISF and the Municipal Police (MP) in 2 municipalities; and (5) setting up a new legal aid helpdesk for detainees and improve existing helpdesks to better support vulnerable people facing legal issues.
