Published purpose

This project aims to strengthen the quality and effectiveness of humanitarian action by Canadian non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The project supports the Humanitarian Response Network (HRN), a forum for Canadian humanitarian non-governmental organizations to share information, coordinate humanitarian responses, and build organizational knowledge and skills. Project activities include: (1) training members on key humanitarian issues and approaches; (2) developing an online platform to provide a space for members to consult and share documents relevant to the sector, and on themes covered in HRN events; (3) providing engagement opportunities (i.e. conferences, annual meetings, and other fora) involving heads of agencies, programmatic and support staff, and GAC staff to advance priority policy issues and improvements to response modalities; and (4) organizing various discussion forums (in person and virtual) on humanitarian topics, which will shape future events and training for HRN members.
