Published purpose
This 29-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of The 519 to advance LGBTQ2S equality. This will be achieved by implementing an effective data management system, to track and analyze organizational data, developing an online “Army of Lovers” advocacy campaign to support LGBTQ2S digital engagement across Ontario, advancing and integrating an Anti-Racism and Equity (ARE) Framework, developing and implementing a service mapping strategy, and, building and strengthening partnerships and collaborations. Supplemental funding and a 12-month timeline extension for Phase 2 will be used to develop an Anti-Racism and Equity (ARE) Implementation Plan, complementing the ARE Framework developed, and to develop a communications plan, informed by the service mapping completed. It will also be used for developing a Post-pandemic Strategic Action Plan, to inform the 2023-2026 strategic planning process, and for developing a Staff Wellness Retention Strategy, to support staff in avoiding burnout, and mitigating vicarious trauma. At the end of this project, the organization will have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression; and it will have established and/or strengthened partnerships and collaborations to support the LGBTQ2S movement.
