Published purpose

This 29-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Youth Project Society (The Youth Project) to advance LGBTQ2 equality. This will be achieved by building managerial capacity within the organization and technical expertise of the sector through consultation and training, by increasing access to evidence, data, information, and knowledge sources through community needs assessments, and by strengthening collaboration among community partners. The organization will also work within specific 2SQTBIPOC demographics and share newly created sector resources. The Youth Project will utilize supplemental funds to develop organizational capacity by expanding their internal curriculum diversifying partnerships and networks, creating a provincial 2SLGBTQIA+ advocacy strategy and a digital resource about restructuring 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations within a trauma-informed and anti-racist pedagogy, and by building grant writing skills for long-term sustainability. At the end of the project, the organization will have increased knowledge and capacity, internally and sector-wide, to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression. It will also have strengthened partnerships and collaborations to support the LGBTQ2 movement.
