Published purpose

This 29-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of Wabanaki Two Spirit Alliance to advance LGBTQ2 equality. This will be achieved by building managerial capacity, enhancing technical expertise and evidence-based approaches, increasing the cross-sectoral capacity of Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations, and strengthening collaboration through inter-provincial network development, resource sharing, regional advocacy planning, and partnership initiatives including research and cultural awareness training. Wabanaki Two Spirt Alliance will utilize supplemental funds to develop organizational capacity by consolidating networks and partnerships through strategy and engagement, strengthening the governance and leadership foundations of the organization, increasing organizational and financial sustainability, and enhancing communication and knowledge sharing with its members, member communities and the 2S community at large. At the end of the project, the organization will have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and partnerships and collaborations will have been established and strengthened to support the LGBTQ2 movement.
