Published purpose

This 29-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of Fierté Timmins Pride to advance 2SLGBTQ+ equality. This will be achieved by conducting a Needs Assessment to identify gaps in current community services in North-Eastern Ontario and thus advance LGBTQ2 equality with an intersectional approach, such as race, age, and official language. The Needs Assessment will then lead to the development of programs and services to better-serve the 2SLGBTQ+ community in North-Eastern Ontario. The organization will strengthen community networks and the Executive Board through training and consultations. The supplemental funds will cover the costs of the organization implementing the recommendations from the Needs Assessment to better support clients. In Phase II of the project, the organization will 1) develop an organizational strategic plan; 2) create Peer Support Circles and develop and deliver Executive Board and Peer Support resources and training to further priority areas within the strategic plan; 3) undertake grant and partnership development to increase organizational sustainability. At the end of the project, the organization will have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and will have established and/or strengthened partnerships and collaborations to support the 2SLGBTQ+ movement.
