Published purpose

This 36-month project aims to increase recruitment and retention of women in executive roles and in the trades in the forestry sector. Main activities include a needs assessment and literature review; identification of promising practices; nationwide consultation and engagement strategy; development and implementation of strategic national plan. The supplemental funding will support the implementation of the project as initially envisioned. This supplement will allow the Canadian Institute of Forestry to undertake the following additional activities: develop a gender equity advocacy toolkit; attain a best practices report from leading international companies that have been certified in gender equality in the workplace certification; and develop communication tools to access women as a potential labour market pool in the forest sector.
