Published purpose

This 40-month project will address capacity needs and increased demand created by the COVID-19 pandemic. This will be achieved by 1) work with feminist organizations based in cities across the country to develop collective strategies for advancing a feminist municipal recovery plan across municipalities, 2) conduct ongoing systemic change work to ensure gendered response to the COVID-19 pandemic at the municipal and provincial levels, 3) scale-up advocacy and liaise with provincial Members of Parliament and groups to develop province-specific approaches to policy change on affordable housing. The 2024 supplemental funds will cover costs associated with 1) exploring a new framework for feminist policy change through the development of a policy paper focused on using the care economy and 2) expanding CAWI’s reach to young women and supporting their advocacy skill development through a Women’s Action Forum being held in March 2024.
