Published purpose

This three and a half months project will create working groups, corresponding to four of the five pillars of the GBV National Action Plan At-A-Glance (Support for survivors and their families; Prevention; Promotion of responsive legal and justice systems; and Social infrastructure and enabling environment), to lead and coordinate sector strategic input while ensuring representation across the country. Women’s Shelter Canada (WSC) will ensure that the working groups are provided a common framework and tools to help guide strategic discussions. The working groups will conduct research to ensure that evidence-based recommendations are provided in their individual pillar-based reports. WSC will prepare a final report summarizing the four reports and strategic recommendations for action. Work specifically on Support for Indigenous-led approaches and responses will be addressed through engagement sessions with Indigenous leaders, partners, communities and the Indigenous Women’s Circle.
