Published purpose

This 48-month project will engage men and boys as agents of change to reduce violence against women and girls across all four regions of Inuit Nunangat, referring to Inuit homeland consisting of Inuvialuit (NWT), Nunatsiavut (Labrador), Nunavik (Quebec), and Nunavut. Through the project, Pauktuutit will partner with women’s organizations, men’s groups, frontline service providers, such as shelters and other stakeholders, to develop and implement culturally-appropriate targeted interventions. They will work directly with men’s groups on how to take a leadership role against violence, and a national role-model campaign will also be developed to encourage men, women and youth to speak and act against violence. Additional funds will help mitigate the impact of unforeseen changes to the project activities as a result COVID-19 pandemic.
