Published purpose

This 24-month project with Strides Toronto Support Services will develop and implement a promising practice that will entail comprehensive community outreach, an education strategy and trauma-informed intensive Case Management. This also includes access to an Interdisciplinary GBV Team to advance knowledge and enhance empowerment supports for at-risk populations and survivors of human trafficking in Toronto in early intervention services and recovery, with a specialized focus on underserved youth populations, including black, racialized, and LGBTQ2+ youth, and those with developmental disabilities. This will be achieved by conducting recruitment, training, and team integration; developing a network of partners; implementing a Case Management Service; and evaluating and developing a trauma-informed program. At the end of the project, the organization will have engaged and supported clients to develop their individual capacities and skills, to regain control of their lives, be empowered and supported in their recovery process. The project will include an external evaluation that will look at the success and scalability of the promising practices.
