Canadian Association for Girls in Science (CAGIS)

Published purpose

This 47-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the Canadian Association for Girls in Science to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Supported activities will include the creation of automated membership systems, websites, and volunteer training videos for increased efficiency through the creation of a Board of Champions to raise its profile and connect the Association with new funders, and the piloting of promotional strategies by chapters to attract new paid members and supporters. Together these activities will enable the expansion of chapters to new cities. This supplement will allow CAGIS to undertake the following additional activities: 1) promotion of activities to ensure that families are aware that CAGIS is now virtual; and 2) increase in functionality of automated web system to adapt to pivoted activities (including French translation, increased functionality for higher levels of volunteer screening, writer for CAGIS newsletter).
