Published purpose
This 27-month project will strengthen the capacity and networks of Comité Francoqueer de l’Ouest to advance 2SLGBTQIA+ equality. This will be achieved through a comprehensive, major and in-depth review of governance, internal policies, and the creation of a communications plan and a strategic plan. In addition, the organization will develop skills through training, recruitment and mobilization of volunteers by making evidence, data and information more accessible through a survey and various legal and health awareness tools to promote 2SLGBTQIA+ equality through an intersectional approach accounting for race, age and official language. The additional funding for Phase 2 will be used for activities that will increase the organization's knowledge and capacity, including training for the board of directors and panellists and the creation of staff and volunteer training resources. This project will also explore collaborations and partnerships with Anglophone 2SLGBTQIA+ groups as well as groups outside Alberta. At the end of the project, the organization will have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sexual and gender diversity, and established and/or strengthened partnerships and collaborations to support the Francophone 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
