Published purpose

This 30-month project will develop and implement adaptation measures and tools for employers in rural areas to accommodate and hire survivors of violence to address the root causes of gender-based violence. The Kent Centre for Prevention of Violence Inc. will achieve this goal by collaborating with regional partners to develop a community-based approach to address intersectional barriers to women's economic security by improving access to basic services such as childcare, housing, employment and transportation. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to the removal of systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices; increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change; and supporting a positive distribution of authority, voices and decision-making power in support of women's equality. During implementation of the project, the Kent Violence Prevention Centre Inc. will establish relevant partnerships with business organizations such as chambers of commerce, municipalities, and business people to establish municipal policies and approaches that will end gender-based violence and workplace biases in rural areas.
