Published purpose

This 30-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs, Inc (NLOWE) will achieve this by reviewing and modifying inadequate policies and practices at organizational and sectoral levels, conducting a needs assessment and jurisdictional scan, engaging networks and partners to assist with the education and awareness campaign, as well as developing and delivering a gender-diversity tool kit. NLOWE will also encourage young women and girls in rural areas, including women living with a disability, to advance in leadership and decision-making positions, including senior management and board directors’ positions. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices, and by increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change to support women’s equality. To create systemic change through policy development and organizational practices and policies, NLOWE will be partnering with the private sector, industry associations and municipalities as well as with Inclusion NL and the Economic Developers Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (EDANL).
