Published purpose
This 30-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Cold Lake First Nations will achieve this by forming an Indigenous Women’s Coalition, identifying opportunities to make changes, engaging partners to facilitate change, and taking collective action to close gender inequitable gaps in the Cold Lake First Nations community. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices and supporting positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power to support women’s equality. This project will bring together women and all people who experience inequity based on gender identity to act as leaders in the development of a solution focused response to ending gender-based violence and gender-based dominance to improve women’s and girl’s economic security and prosperity.
