Published purpose

This 30-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Infinity Women Secretariat Inc. will achieve this by utilizing research and consultations to develop a Manitoba Métis women-specific gender equality toolkit, as well as policy and regulation guidelines. Gender equality training workshops will be developed and facilitated for the Métis government to complement the toolkit. A mid-term and final evaluation will be conducted to critically examine the project. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices; encouraging more equitable and effective sharing of resources; increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change; supporting positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power; and addressing persistent and harmful gender norms and attitudes to support women’s equality. The Manitoba Métis Federation and its affiliates will partner with this organization to contribute to the implementation of the policies and regulation guidelines to increase women’s leadership in democratic, civic, public, and private sectors.
