Published purpose

This 27-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Clan Mothers Turtle Lodge Inc will achieve this by developing and delivering a national awareness campaign and a training program for resource extraction and construction workers in order to prevent and address gender-based violence, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking facing Indigenous women, girls, 2Spirit and trans people within Indigenous communities across the country. A national advocacy network composed of leaders from across the country and a strategic plan will also be established to support the achievement of these objectives. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by the following three elements: advancing inclusive policies and practices, increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, and addressing persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes, all to support women’s equality.
