Published purpose
This 25-month project will support a feminist response and recovery for the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Righting Relationships Canada will achieve this by strengthening a national women-led network of adult educators, community organizers and non-profits working together to affect systemic change on critical human rights issues in the country, particularly as it relates to Gender Based Violence. At the end of the project, the organization will have cultivated 6 women-led, Pan-Canadian adult education Change Labs. These Change Labs will be a space for team members with lived experience across the country to come together, deconstruct and critically analyze the issues at hand, and work to identify root causes and key strategies for short- and long-term change. The learnings and outcomes from these labs will contribute to the development of tools and resources for education and policy. This projects effort will advance women’s voices and leadership in decision making, influence policies and practises towards full inclusion, and challenge norms and attitudes that traditionally exclude. Participants will build and dissemination an outreach strategy to share learnings with key stakeholders and the non-profit sector and create intersections and establish connections across Canada.
