Published purpose
This 30-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Times Change Women’s Employment Services will achieve this by: connecting with management and senior staff at companies (including those in typically male-dominated fields) to assign responsibility for diversity in the workplace; educating employers about the benefits of diversity and methods for increasing staff retention and advancement; exposing Times Change clients to non-traditional employers through career panels and employment opportunities; and by providing employers, employees and clients with coaching to support job retention and facilitate positive change in workplace culture. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices and by addressing persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes. Plans and tools will be developed in partnership with a diversity-focussed organization. Over the course of the project, up to 100 small and medium-sized employers will be engaged to commit to system changes. An external project evaluation will be completed at project-end.
