Published purpose

Through this 24-month project, Women’s Equality Branch in collaboration with Sexual Violence New Brunswick (SVNB) will improve the response to sexual violence at public post-secondary institutions (PPSI) in New Brunswick by designing and testing a model of service delivery and supplemented by the development and implementation of a training strategy. This will be achieved by identifying and analysing best practices in sexual violence response; engaging with campus administration, service-providers, students, faculty and staff to understand campus culture and response to sexual violence; identifying resources, supports and services to respond to sexual violence; hosting knowledge sharing events to share findings and encourage dialogue; and developing and implementing a training strategy based on knowledge and skill requirements and training needs. At the end of this project, it is expected that public post-secondary institutions (PPSIs) will have a better understanding of campus sexual violence, how it impacts the campus community and how to respond to it. A package outlining the proposed model of service-delivery, a training strategy and resources will be shared with PPSI in both official languages to adapt to meet their unique needs.
