Published purpose

Through this 41-month project, the NB Women’s Equality Branch, in collaboration with the Atlantic Domestic Homicide Network (ADHRN), will partner with the Canadian Femicide Observatory for Justice and Accountability to examine domestic homicide data and trends in the Atlantic provinces over a 10-year retrospective period. This will increase knowledge of gender-based violence (GBV) and will generate evidence to help strengthen the GBV sector across the region. It is expected that by identifying gaps in data collection and investigations processes, gaps in GBV service provisions will also be collected. Recommendations will then be made to all four provincial government in Atlantic Canada in regard to enhanced data collection processes and investigations of domestic homicides, as well as to address these gaps by making systemic improvements.
