Published purpose
Through this 29-month project, Le Collectif social will help women overcome the current impacts of COVID-19 by bringing about systemic change. More specifically, the project will address systemic barriers in establishments prone to a disturbing prevalence of sexual violence and where a possible resurgence of such violence is raising concerns with the easing of public health measures, particularly in locations where alcohol is served, such as bars. The project will therefore address the standards and attitudes that allow violence to persist in these locations by equipping staff on site to actively keep watch in their establishments and, more broadly, in their communities. Ultimately, the project will create a vast network of safe bars committed to fighting sexual violence with the accreditation of 120 to 130 establishments through our Order an Angelot approach. This approach will be deployed in all provincial and territorial capital cities across the country.
