Published purpose

This 27-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Acadia First Nation will achieve this by developing policies, procedures and practices, seeking Elder’s grassroots input and guidance through community-based approaches, developing prevention strategies and conducting education workshops and training, establishing relationships and partnerships to advance gender equality and submitting a final report with recommendations and developing a path forward. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices, increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, addressing persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes and supporting positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power to support women’s equality.
