Published purpose

This 26-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Afghan Women's Organization Refugee and Immigrant Services (AWO) will achieve this by : engaging in significant outreach (advisory committee, peer leaders, outreach strategy); research (literature review, data collection via mixed participatory methods); community interventions through pilot small-scale social change prototypes (tested and adjusted as needed); and ensuring the sustainability of the results through the development and dissemination of a Dialogue Box/Toolkit Training, final report, and project learnings. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by supporting positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power, and by addressing persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes to support women’s equality.
