Published purpose

This 29-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Healthy Muslim Families Inc. will achieve this by conducting research and a gap analysis of GBV in Muslim Community, establishing a Muslim Women GBV advisory committee, establishing a roundtable of Muslim serving organizations, conducting community engagement sessions with survivors, Muslim community, Muslim leaders and service providers, establishing a Muslim Women Career Advancement committee, and through developing a healing and empowerment program that is culturally appropriate, anti-racist and trauma informed. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices, increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, and addressing persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes to support women’s equality.
