Published purpose

This 18-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Institute of International Women’s Rights Manitoba will achieve this by conducting research and engaging in community consultation about legislative, policy and societal gaps that exist for women, girls and gender-diverse populations in Manitoba and making policy recommendations to advance more inclusive policies and practices through GBA+ and a cross-sectorial approach to ensure that Manitoba’s recovery is responsive and supportive to the needs of marginalized communities. Additionally, the project will address and allow community responses to use an evidence-based approach to programming, education and policy recommendations to better serve their communities. At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies to support women’s equality.
