Published purpose

Through this 39-month project, the Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society (ACEHS) will build its capacity to prevent and address gender-based violence (GBV) against Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, focusing on individuals with lived experience of homelessness in Victoria, BC. This will be achieved by engaging with unhoused and at-risk 2SLGBTQQIA+ Indigenous youth to develop a youth housing model that addresses their identified needs; undertaking foundational planning toward piloting and evaluating a Social Enterprise; and developing a series of policies, toolkits, resources, and training modules for staff and volunteers that strengthen ACEHS’ programs preventing violence. By the end of the project, ACEHS will have strengthened their capacity to prevent and address GBV against Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, focusing on individuals with lived experience of homelessness
