Published purpose

This 59-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the organization to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced through the following activities: partnership development, collaboration and networking, advocacy and gender-based analysis plus. A supplementary amount allocated will be used to facilitate the remote delivery of networking and collaborative work in the face of Covid-19 by reinforcing the organization’s digital communication abilities and tools. The latest 12-month extension and supplement granted to the Cree Women of Eeyou Istchee Association will allow it to train its staff in order to implement and standardize across the organization the recommendations coming out of the Human Resource Assessment which CWEIA finalized in early 2023. Finally, CWEIA will also carry out a working session for its management team and selected members of its board of directors to improve their capacity to develop effective policies and procedures that affect the daily operations of the organization and improve its planning capacity to better advocate for indigenous women’s issues on Eeyou Istchee territory.
