Published purpose
This 59-month project will address organizational capacity needs to allow the City for All Women Initiative (CAWI) to continue promoting social and systemic change towards gender equality. Organizational capacity will be enhanced by: transitioning CAWI's Steering Committee into an effective not-for-profit Board of Directors, with a focus on strong governance and accountability; developing a sustainable Human Resources strategy that incorporates succession planning and recruitment and retention strategies; developing a sustainable fundraising strategy and establishing a new financial management system; and developing a social enterprise model for the facilitation of trainings in the Ottawa area on the themes of equity and inclusion, allowing for professional development and income generation for female facilitators, while advancing CAWI’s mission of advancing gender equality. The 2020 supplemental funds will cover costs associated with updating the organizational website, including accessibility text, as well as developing branding and promotional material for the social enterprise. The 2023 supplemental funding will be used to transition the organization to a distributed leadership model, improve organizational data management, and develop a marketing strategy and formally launch the organization’s social enterprise model.
