Published purpose

Through this 33-month project, La Ronge Native Women’s Council Inc. will increase its ability to prevent or address gender-based violence against Indigenous women, girls, or 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, with a focus on Indigenous peoples living in rural and remote Saskatchewan. This will be achieved by assessing client needs, service gaps, collaboration of services to fill those gaps, work with other support agencies in assessing and creating a smooth transition of client care in a crisis situation and creating procedures for the outlying communities to utilize the shelter, and to create safety plans of their own to be shared with communities and the GBV crisis. By the end of the project La Ronge Native Women’s Council Inc will have strengthened their capacity to prevent and address GBV against Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people with a focus on Indigenous peoples living in rural and remote Saskatchewan.
