Published purpose

Through this 42-month project, the Pride Society of the Comox Valley (PSCV) will increase the capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will address accessibility gaps in services and barriers for seniors, low-income, and people experiencing homelessness. It will also address the need for community consultation to determine program and resource development. The project will be a path towards connecting the existing informal networks within the 2SLGBTQI+ community with the result of increased visibility, less isolation, and greater capacity for advocacy, education and action. The project will include hiring a part-time coordinator on a 2-year contract to facilitate strategic planning, community engagement with the local 2SLGBTQI+ community and PSCV members, and developing resources for outreach, advocacy and education. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, Pride Society of the Comox Valley will improve organizational financial management, conduct community collaboration for guide and toolkit development, develop an advocacy strategy, and conduct evaluation of the organization's advocacy strategy. Through this they will advance gender equality.
