Rainbow Community Places

Published purpose

Through this 40-month project, Rainbow Community Places will build stronger capacity of 2SLGBTQI+ community organizations and networks to advance 2SLGBTQI+ equality. It will address the need to increase organizational governance structures and planning to provide structured programs for intergenerational members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community to address issues specific to the community and related health, safety, and social issues. The project will include capacity building for organizational decision making, strategic planning and financial management to support the development of tools and resources to effectively manage and maintain staff and volunteers and to increase collaboration with other 2SLGBTQI+ organizations and community resources. With the Supplemental funds and extension provided in early 2026, Rainbow Community Places will implement new donor tracking and payroll systems, redesign their webpage, create a digital photograph library, develop and implement a recruitment and training plan for staff and volunteers, and develop an action plan for participation in Pride Month. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality.
